THE GARCIA RIVER
CLIENT: THE NATURE CONSERVANCY
As the saying goes, there was a time when you could walk across the Garcia River on the backs of coho salmon. We joined Peter van de Burgt and his team at The Nature Conservancy to document their conservation efforts to preserve this endangered species. TNC worked in collaboration with many partners including Bureau of Land Management, NOAA, CDFW, PCI Ecological, & Wylatti.
Special thanks to Isaac Rios, from the Bokeya Manchester Band of Pomo Indians, who have been stewards of the land since creation. Isaac joined us to share the cultural significance of the river, they call P’da Hau.
